What We Are Looking For

• Experience in food prep or sandwich making in a retail setting preferred
• A passion for good, quick food (and cheese is a plus!)
• Natural problem solver
• Weekend and holiday availability
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Food Handling Certification
• Generally 3 shifts a week: 2-3 during the week and 1 or 2 on the weekends
• 10:30-3 week day
• 10:30-5 week end

Responsibilities

• Preparing sandwiches, salads, and soup to order - Includes safe and proper handling of meat slicers, knives and other kitchen utensils and equipment
• Maintaining a clean and sanitary work station
• Displays - stock the store to make sure that all displays look full, neat, and appetizing
• Clean and maintain equipment, furniture, dining area, and displays to ensure a clean and food safe working environment
• Communicate with manager/owner to coordinate orders of product
• Assisting the cheesemonger with cheese plates to order
• Assisting with prep of catering platters
• Occasionally checking customers out at the register
• Must have reliable transportation

Work Environment/ Physical Responsibilities

• Responsible for moving or lifting an average of 5 – 20 pounds with an occasional weight lifted of 50 pounds
• Continuous interaction with co-workers in a fast-paced environment
• The safe and proper handling of slicers, knives and other kitchen utensils and equipment
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time, with constant moving, bending, lifting, reaching and turning during shifts

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 28 per week
